Conductive hearing loss occurs when sound transmission is blocked in the outer or middle ear, reducing sound volume but not clarity, and is often treatable when diagnosed early.

Tenderness behind the ear can result from infections, inflammation, injuries, or swollen lymph nodes, with severity ranging from mild irritation to serious conditions like mastoiditis requiring medical attention.

Unilateral hearing loss causes reduced or distorted hearing in one ear, affecting sound localization and communication, often due to infections, earwax, noise damage, or sudden injury, and requires prompt medical evaluation for effective treatment.

Swelling behind the bony area of the ear often indicates infection, lymph node enlargement, or inflammation and can cause discomfort; prompt medical evaluation is advised if swelling persists, worsens, or is accompanied by pain or fever.

Bruising behind the ear, often caused by minor trauma, pressure, or medical conditions, can signal anything from harmless irritation to serious injuries like skull fractures, requiring attention if accompanied by severe symptoms.
